No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. -
1 Cor 10:13This has definitely been an interesting season in the church here in Eger. These past three months have seen a lot of changes and growth, but also a lot of trials and testings. The economy, spiritual warfare, and the stress of finals have all had their effect on the body here, but the truth is that God is faithful and He has been taking really great care of us all. Despite the enemy's best attempts, we are still here, we are still standing in the grace of God, and we are still seeing ground taken in His name.
The first week of April we participated in an evangelical outreach with the other churches in town called ProChrist. It was a program from Germany which did it's best to present the Gospel and share about the love of Christ. For one week, every night a church would host the program and share something about themselves. When it was our turn, we had a lot of feedback about how people enjoyed our message, the music, and wished they could have heard more from us. Unfortunately, we also received a lot of feedback about how the program itself wasn't very good. While that isn't so nice, we were blessed to just take part in something which invested in the fellowship between the churches at least. We've even been blessed with a few people who began attending the church who specifically attended the event to see what church they would like to be a part of.

We also hosted another Vajta outreach on that weekend. A team of 8 students from the Bible College in Vajta came out for a kid's program in a nearby town called Szihalom and participated in some street evangelism here in Eger. The kid's program had about 20 kids show up and they all had a great time. The team really did a great job and we couldn't help but be impressed at their energy and enthusiasm for the work here. They really connected with the kids and made the whole outreach a more exciting event for everyone. They also participated in an unplanned street outreach

and evangelism. This was again an amazing thing to watch. One of the team members, Garrett, has a real gift with music and connecting to people. He ended up spending a lot of time in the park with a group of college students and sharing with them the Gospel. Another member of the team gave her Bible to a lady that now is a part of the church on a regular basis.
On the home front, Marianna and I have been settling into the work here in Eger more and more. Marianna is enjoying her work w

ith the city of Andornaktálya and is beginning to get used to living here. She still misses her family, but with the new blessing of a car, we are hoping it will be easier to take time and visit them. Some other good news is that we now have someone renting the flat in Szolnok! This is a direct answer to prayer as the woman is an old coworker of Marianna's and very trustworthy and flexible. We are really amazed at the perfect fit and are truly grateful to those who prayed for this. This Monday also marked the start of my 31st year. I have to say, as I always do, that I really don't feel much different except maybe my awareness of my lack of understanding and knowledge grows more and more each year. That and that I can't seem to connect with kids so easily and my back usually hurts after playing with them. Over all though, we are excited about the next year of work here in Eger.

There will be two Vajta conferences over the next three weeks. The first one is kind of a vacation for the leadership team, our time for being spiritually refreshed and renewed for the work here. The second will be the Hungary-wide Calvary summer conference and Nick and I both will be participating in the work during the week. In between these two conferences, Marianna and I will be taking a week of vacation touring Western Hungary by car. We are really looking forward to this chance to get away and be together. Please pray for safe traveling and a good time during this trip.

We will be hosting two English camps in July, one for younger kids and one for older kids and adults. The first will be a day camp and hopefully help re-start a children's ministry in the church here. The second is a continuation of our past Summer English camp outreaches. We have seen a lot of fruit from these camps but we are praying for more and more each year. Please pray that the kids will be prepared for the Gospel and that we will be able to meet the demands these outreaches place on us. Also, with the economy being so rough lately, we are having a shortage of native speakers willing to come out and take part in the work. If anyone is interested in pouring into the lives of some teenagers and adults, please pray about coming out and joining us. You only need a heart for the Lord and a desire to share. God will take care of the rest! We are also praying about a big music outreach in August. We're not sure yet what exactly we will do, but we know we want to try something new. There is a great spot in the center of town that is open most of the time and there is a great park where all the local people love to visit in the summer. Please be praying about what we can do and how we can be effective in reaching out the people here in Eger.
As for personal prayers, please pray for me as I continue to study the Hungarian language. I am truly overwhelmed sometimes by how difficult it is to understand people here, but I am seeing signs of improvement. For Marianna, that she can be a light and a salt in her workplace and that God would give her a strong vision for her place in the church. Lastly, please be praying for this Christmas. We would like to return for some time in December to visit everyone and show Marianna a true Daniels family Christmas. That's all for now. God bless you all and we pray you have a great summer!
